Tocom RSS3 rubber futures are higher in slow trade after sharp losses earlier this week.

The International Rubber Consortium says heavy rain earlier this week in Phuket has caused rubber plantations to flood, which will hit output from the province this month.

The Meteorological Department of Thailand is also forecasting heavy rain in the major rubber producing region of South Thailand this week.

Benchmark April rubber trades Y1.3 higher at Y193.9/kg.
