Working Visit to Unit Riset Bogor – Getas (URBG)

IRCo visited Unit Riset Bogor – Getas (URBG) on 26 August 2024 in Bogor and discussed matters related to sustainable development of rubber industry including commercialisation of downstream rubber-based innovations. URBG team was led by Mr. Imam Susetyo M.Sc., Head of Unit, URBG.

Both parties discussed and shared ideas on the development of projects in improving the sustainable development in Indonesia through various initiatives and studies related to innovations of rubber particularly in downstream rubber sector. The industry is environment-friendly and contributes towards a green initiative in the whole value chain of the sector. In addition to that, both parties expressed concerns on the negative impact of Pestalotiopsis (leaf fall disease) which affects the reduction in yield and production of NR in Indonesia. Furthermore, ideas and possible measures were discussed to mitigate the plant disease affecting the productivity. URBG also highlighted various innovations in pre-harvest, post-harvest and rubber-based products.
