Mr. Sorawut Nuengjamnong, Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC), welcomed Ms. Paphatchaya Yutthacharoenkit during a courtesy visit and discussion on IRCo’s operational progress, as well as an exchange of views on future rubber cooperation under the frameworks of the International Tripartite Rubber Council and International Rubber Consortium Limited.

The discussion focused on strengthening Thailand’s rubber industry and enhancing its competitiveness in the global market, while also addressing sustainable rubber plantation management, forest encroachment prevention, and the alignment of standards with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

MOAC highlighted its efforts to strengthen legal measures against forest encroachment and promote sustainable rubber farming standards to help ensure fair prices for farmers. Participants also exchanged knowledge and discussed international cooperation strategies with major rubber-producing countries such as Vietnam and Côte d’Ivoire to reduce trade barriers and enhance competitiveness in the global market.

MOAC reaffirmed its continued support for Thailand’s role in the International Tripartite Rubber Council and International Rubber Consortium Limited in maintaining rubber price stability, strengthening regional cooperation, and advancing IRCo’s operations to ensure sustainable growth and benefits for rubber farmers and businesses throughout the rubber supply chain.
