Working Visit to Songkhla, Thailand

IRCo participated in a working visit organised by the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) on 1 – 2 February 2024. Together with a delegation from Malaysia comprising key officers from Economic Planning Unit, Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority, we visited  Songkhla Central Rubber Market under RAOT, Rubber Innovative Research Institute, Ban Na Prang Pattana Farmer Group and Rubber Testing Service & Certification Center and Prince of Songkla University.

The delegation learnt and observed the auction market in Songkhla Central Rubber Market and various Network Markets in Thailand which support the CRM. Thailand has developed an impressive infrastructure and system in determining the Central Rubber Market Rubber Price. During the visit to Prince of Songkhla University and RAOT, Songkhla, the delegates were briefed on a plethora of applications of rubber and samples of value-added products made from their research using natural rubber as well as activities, services and the facilities provided by RAOT Songkhla.
