Dato’ Yusran Shah bin Mohd Yusof, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities Malaysia and Head of National Tripartite Rubber Corporation (NTRC) of Malaysia, welcomed the Chief Executive Officer of the International Rubber Consortium Organization (IRCo) to Malaysia and reaffirmed support for its future direction.
The CEO outlined planned activities for the coming year, including participation in an international expo, the organization of seminars, and potential collaboration with key stakeholders in the rubber industry. Discussions also addressed concerns over the declining trend in rubber production and emphasized the need to enhance productivity among smallholders.
Both parties agreed on the importance of exploring sustainable business opportunities for IRCo to generate its own income, including a possible shift toward broader collaborative efforts aimed at improving productivity and expanding market share. They also stressed the urgency of maintaining core operations while continuing to implement strategic initiatives to ensure IRCo’s long-term sustainability.
